Trustees voted to renew the district’s Property and Casualty insurance with TASB Risk Management Fund for 2026–27 with a not‑to‑exceed amount of $303,068. The motion, made by Rhett Renner and seconded by Anne Marie Pearson, passed 6–0 at the July 13 meeting.
The board separately approved Region 16 Education Service Center contracts for a range of instructional, technical and administrative services for 2026–27 and authorized the superintendent to execute contracts. Exhibit B lists line items and a subtotal of $138,905.14 for multiple service lines (instructional support, TEKS resources, managed services and others). That vote carried 5–1 (the record shows one dissenting vote on the Region 16 authorization).
Board discussion as recorded in the minutes did not include extended debate; trustees moved both matters to votes after staff presentation. The insurance renewal and the contracts are standard annual items to ensure coverage and service arrangements for the upcoming year.
