The Stanfield School Board voted on Jan. 8 to change its regular meeting start time to 5:00 p.m. Cecili Longhorn moved the change and Karen Johnson seconded; the minutes record the motion "carried with 3 Yes votes and 1 No vote." The item moved from discussion into action after members raised scheduling and facility concerns.
Board members said the change was prompted in part by concerns about audience sight lines at the elementary venue during concerts and by scheduling needs for staff and community members. Chair Scott Morris noted the elementary location can make it difficult to see students during performances, and the board agreed to adopt the new time going forward. The minutes show the motion was recorded as corrected in the final minutes.
