The park board approved multiple community-engagement and fundraising initiatives aimed at increasing volunteer capacity and public visibility ahead of Heritage Days.
Ellen reported she has a trifold pamphlet and a volunteer signup with a QR code ready for distribution; she said, "I am still working on the layout, but I have the pamphlet made." The board agreed to post sign-up links and QR codes at parks and on social media to coordinate work sessions (Friday 5–8 p.m., Saturday 9–12/9–4/5–8) and to ensure volunteers have assigned tasks and tools.
Members also approved creating a donation page (with a linked QR code) to allow online contributions; Casey and Ellen will lead that project. The board discussed selling shirts and optional magnetic vehicle signs to raise funds or increase visibility; the group approved pursuing production quotes and agreed some members would pay for shirts themselves. Attica Rotary agreed to donate $600 to buy 10 beautification signs; the board voted to accept and expend the donation to purchase signs from Wild Graphics.
The board also authorized using social media (Facebook) to run a community name-submission and voting process for the new play area, with plans to post a naming form and then a poll. Members asked that recognition for donors and volunteers be publicized on the park's web and social pages.
