Board approves Blue Way-funded floating dock and Wabash Overlook refurbishments

The board also approved a stone path from the street to the Wabash Overlook per a quote from Andy Smart; the Community Foundation will cover the path's cost. Members approved a separate quote to refurbish the Wabash Overlook (capstones, wood and masonry repairs) and accepted the contractor proposal; Eli recused himself from that vote because his grandfather submitted the quote.
Eli, who has been coordinating with Blue Way and DNR reviewers, said the grant partners expect to fully fund the dock, overlook and some signage, "and as far as the DNR comments...once that's hashed out, we should be pretty pretty good to go." Board members discussed logistics for storing the dock on city property and the possibility of installation before Heritage Days if DNR clearance and contractor scheduling permit.
The board directed staff and volunteers to collect final vendor quotes, check DNR requirements and confirm storage/installation logistics before contracts are finalized.
