Cannon Beach Academy parents ask Seaside SD 10 board for formal agenda time and raise funding, transport concerns

During the public-comment period, Cannon Beach Academy stakeholders asked the board for a formal opportunity to discuss program changes and operational concerns.
Phil Vincent, identified as President of Cannon Beach Academy, requested that the district put CBA on the April agenda to discuss desired program updates. Several parents—Ricky Hewitt, Olivia Triller, Cole Nelson and Rochelle Plumer—spoke in support of the charter school and raised issues including transportation, funding and students’ transition experiences. The board agreed to schedule a work session with Cannon Beach Academy and to provide background materials (the current charter agreement) to newer board members to facilitate that discussion.
Separately, Cannon Beach Academy Director MaryEllen Rogozinski provided the CBA Director’s Report as part of the school reports segment earlier in the meeting. Board members discussed meeting scheduling conflicts (noting a concurrent band concert) and ways to ensure stakeholders can participate.
