Sudan ISD extends contracts for two principals and the athletic director
Summary
After an executive session for personnel, the board extended contracts for Elementary Principal DeAnn Wilson and High School Principal Gordon Martin through June 30, 2027, and extended Athletic Director John Cornelius’ contract through June 30, 2026; each extension was approved 5-0.
Following a brief executive session under TEC 551.074 for personnel, Superintendent Scott Harrell recommended contract extensions for three administrators. In open session trustees approved extending Elementary Principal DeAnn Wilson’s contract through June 30, 2027, and High School Principal Gordon Martin’s contract through June 30, 2027. Both motions carried 5-0.
The board also approved extending Athletic Director John Cornelius’ contract through June 30, 2026; that motion likewise passed 5-0. The extensions were presented as personnel recommendations from the superintendent after the executive-session discussion.
