Coos County commissioners voted to post and recruit for a Mental Health Specialist III position to support the county’s substance use disorder program and the planned sobering services facility.
Staff said the position will help the county pursue CCBHC (Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic) accreditation, design and implement the program, and shepherd licensing and hiring. The presenter described blended funding for the broader program that includes opioid settlement dollars and a startup grant from the Oregon Health Authority. Commissioners moved and seconded the request to post the position and approved it in a voice vote.
