Principals report on safety drills, conferences, field trips and Homecoming results

Dr. Jennifer Wilson, WEM Principal, reported on activities across the Waterville campus: high-school conferences slated for Oct. 28 and Nov. 4 and elementary conferences scheduled Nov. 21 and 25; completion of school safety and fire drills; Catalyst coaching returning Oct. 29; and that Quarter 1 concludes on Nov. 1 with an early release and afternoon professional development for staff. She also noted kindergarten and fourth-grade field trips and the annual elementary Halloween parade (closed to the public).
Middle School Principal Myles Knutson described school-spirit initiatives including 'Karaoke Fridays' and cited classroom-engagement examples such as station work in the media center and a 'Feature Walk' activity for 8th graders. Community Education and Activities Director Jeff Boran reported athletic results and schedules: MaKenzie Westphal qualified for the state cross-country meet Nov. 2; varsity volleyball finished 18–11 and earned the No. 5 seed in Section 2AA; varsity football finished 7–1 and earned the No. 2 seed. Boran also noted Driver Education enrollment (21 students) and Little Bucs Preschool enrollment (52 students).
