Commissioner William Gerken updated the Environmental Commission on several town infrastructure items. Gerken said the village received a DEP letter of intent permitting work to proceed at Veterans Park and reported the Board of Education wants a full-size track; he also summarized Pivot Performance Turf’s presentation, noting the company’s turf reportedly does not require fillers or microplastics.
Gerken also briefed members on water-line work at 95 Challenger Road, a NJDEP letter of interpretation for 64 Challenger Road, the combining of the planning and zoning boards into a Land Use Board, and the estimated acquisition cost for the former Fricke property ("$6–$10 million" in the minutes). He reminded members of a state-required CSO project review scheduled for May 13 at 7:00 p.m. and invited EC members to attend.
