Richardson asked Assistant Superintendent Drenon Fite, Jr. to explain the calendar process: three options were developed, the District Improvement Team narrowed them to two, and staff voted to select Calendar A. Mrs. Kip Amick moved to approve the calendar as presented; Mr. Curt Smith seconded and the board approved the motion 5‑0. The calendars presented included instructional days, professional development and teacher preparation days, testing days, early release days and holidays.
