During the open forum after the board reconvened, community member Wendy Keniry urged the Tarkington ISD Board to "carefully select the best bond option" so the measure would benefit all students in the district. Her remarks were made during the public-comment portion limited to non-personnel agenda items.
Another community member, Chase Carpenter, told trustees the number of little-league basketball participants is growing and the district needs larger facilities to accommodate the players. Board procedures for open forum — including a three-minute speaker limit and a requirement to sign up before the meeting — were reiterated during the session.
