Mishawaka board approves personnel report; Holly May named Beager Elementary assistant principal

The School City of Mishawaka board on Aug. 5 approved the personnel report dated Aug. 5, which included the recommendation to appoint 11 certified staff and three classified staff, several extra‑duty assignments, and the retirement of Andrea Scaggs, a life‑skills teacher at Edmonds Elementary.
Human resources presenter Mr. Lebon noted the appointments and thanked Andrea Scaggs for her years of service. The report also recommended that Holly May fill the assistant‑principal vacancy at Beager Elementary following Amanda Stevens’s appointment as principal. After the board approved the personnel report, Holly May spoke to the board: "I am deeply honored and grateful for the opportunity to be named the new assistant principal at Beegar [Beager] Elementary," she said, thanking administration and principal Matt Wood and saying she looks forward to building relationships with students, staff and families.
Board members offered congratulations and the standard post‑appointment welcome; Mr. Lebon said the board was asked to approve the personnel report as presented.
