Cambria trustees elect interim chair, name interim municipal clerk after split votes

Attorney Webb Smith called the Village of Cambria board to order on March 3 and opened nominations for interim leadership positions. Marshall Brown moved to appoint Mike Ren as interim chair, but Ren declined; a subsequent motion to appoint Robby Chitwood carried after a roll call in which Marshall Brown and Robin McFarlin voted no. The board then unanimously appointed Theresia Money as interim municipal clerk.
The appointments followed routine approval of the Feb. 3 minutes and authorization of disbursements referenced on that agenda. The interim clerk appointment and the interim chair vote were conducted by roll call; the record shows the interim clerk motion received a unanimous yes vote while the interim chair tally included two no votes but still passed. Attorney Webb Smith said he would follow up as needed on procedural questions raised during the session.
The board took several other administrative actions during the meeting, including tabling multiple agenda items for future meetings and authorizing some operational contracts and activities. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
