The Cairo Board of Directors heard from resident Tim Zike about an ongoing mold problem in a city-owned building during the Feb. 5, 2026 meeting. According to the minutes, Mr. Zike read a letter describing several concerns; the board requested a copy of the letter and said it was working toward a resolution.
The minutes state the board planned a closed session to consult with an attorney about options related to the complaint. At 6:04 p.m. Trustee Megan Brumley moved to adjourn open session and go into closed session under Section 610.021(1) (legal actions and privileged attorney communications); Trustee Chris Zike seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The minutes record that the board said it would discuss options with its attorney in closed session.
