Sevier County mayor seeks outside land-use counsel from Baisley Law Firm

Mayor Larry Waters told the Sevier County Emergency Services Committee on May 28 that the Mayor’s Office has reached out to attorney Kyle Baisley of the Baisley Law Firm to review questions the Committee raised about land use, zoning and related regulatory matters. The Mayor’s Office submitted a letter of questions to Mr. Baisley and is awaiting his response.
The engagement is in response to concerns raised earlier by the Committee about land-use and zoning processes. According to the update, Mr. Baisley has worked with several surrounding county governments; the Committee will be informed when the Mayor’s Office receives his written responses. No formal contract award or fee schedule was presented at this meeting.
