Ford Elementary spotlighted; Royse City student Matheus Valerio recognized as state cross-country qualifier

Principal Maynard Snyder and Assistant Principal Shana Gaines presented a Ford Elementary spotlight showcasing classroom culture, CHAMPS behavior expectations, enrichment programming and family engagement efforts such as the All Pro Dad breakfast program. "Our commitment is centered on 3 core principles, building knowledge, fostering strong relationships, and cultivating lifelong learners," Snyder said during the presentation.
Girls athletic director Zack Snow introduced Matheus Valerio and praised his improvement and work ethic, noting Valerio is the district's state qualifier in cross country this year. "He turned himself into a state qualifier," Snow said, recalling Valerio's progression from a 26-minute 5K to a 15:48 performance and noting the student plans to study mechanical engineering in college. The board thanked students and staff for their presentations.
