The Village of Ridgefield Park Historic Preservation Commission opened its April 23 meeting with a formal statement that the meeting complied with the Open Public Meetings Act and recorded roll call; Chair Jeff Hoffman called the meeting to order at 6:20 p.m.
On a motion by Tim Arata, seconded by John Antola, the commission approved the minutes of the March 26, 2026 meeting, with all members voting in favor. The commission reiterated standard approval notes recorded in its minutes: any approval is contingent on applicants securing required construction permits and sign approvals must conform to the zoning ordinance and be approved by the zoning officer. The minutes also restated sign restrictions, noting that backlit or neon signs are not permitted and that lighted/LED signs are permitted only if installed two feet inside a window; flashing or scrolling lights are not allowed.
The meeting adjourned at 6:31 p.m. on a motion by Gerard Garofalow, seconded by John Antola. The commission listed May 28, 2026 as its next meeting date and published the full 2026 meeting schedule in the packet.
