Trustee Paul Mostella moved to adopt the resolution; Trustee Ben Benavides seconded. The motion passed 5-0. The resolution directs SHAC to present its recommendation at the next regular board meeting following the second public hearing.
The vote was procedural and did not adopt specific instructional materials; it only initiates the SHAC process required by state law. The board did not take action on curriculum content at the Aug. 19 meeting. The district did not specify meeting dates for the SHAC public hearings during the session.
