The Troy ISD Board of Trustees on May 19 unanimously approved resolutions honoring Troy High School students for achievements in powerlifting, track and tennis.
The resolutions, moved by Tommy Valle and seconded by Bill Negron, named individual student athletes and their placements at district, area, regional and state competitions. Among those listed were Bailey Maedgen and JaeJae Phillips, each identified as regional and state powerlifting champions; Ashley Mersch, listed as district, area and regional discus champion and seventh at state; and multiple athletes noted as area, regional and state qualifiers across track events. The board motion to adopt the honors carried unanimously.
The resolutions recorded competition outcomes by event (powerlifting, girls and boys track, and tennis) and specified placements where provided in the meeting record. The honors will appear in the district minutes and serve as formal recognition of the students’ competitive results.
