Superintendent Woods reviewed proposed updates to policy 53-10, which governs compensation schedules for certificated and classified administrators and non-represented staff. Woods said the district prepared salary comparables, a three-year cost comparison and a proposed staffing-reduction list; she told trustees those documents will be provided in an update the next day and that the board should expect a decision in August.
Woods noted the state's prototypical (IPD) funding โ referenced in district materials as 2.6% โ does not cover all staff costs and that non-represented employees should be reviewed separately from administrators. A trustee expressed discomfort about approving raises while other staff face reductions. The superintendent said payroll adjustments would be retroactive to July 1 if changes are approved.
