The solicitor said a resolution supporting the amendment is on the borough agenda and that, if adopted, the amendment would likely take effect at the end of January 2025 to coincide with the borough's Jan. 31, 2025 deadline to adopt a resolution to manage Fair Housing obligations.
Council discussion did not record a formal vote during the work session. The solicitor's presentation framed the amendment as a compliance approach intended to adjust municipal obligations based on anticipated development rather than the previous standard. The council included the resolution on the agenda for formal consideration in an upcoming meeting.
