Pitman gears up for holiday events: Santa parade, holiday tree display, Small Business Weekend and permit approvals

Councilperson Vanessa James outlined the borough’s holiday and small‑business events: Small Business Weekend runs Nov. 30–Dec. 1 with a Pitman Bucks sale, DJ and beer garden on Saturday and kid’s train rides and family activities on Sunday, capped by the Santa Parade on Broadway at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1 (raindate Dec. 8). James said Santa will be in Ballard Park Thursday–Saturday evenings from 6–8 p.m. during December and encouraged residents to volunteer for trolley rides and Santa House activities.
Councilwoman Milward presented an Event Permit application for a Holiday Tree Display (Creative Pitman & Pitman Revitalization Corporation) in Ballard Park from Dec. 7, 2024 to Jan. 7, 2025; the council approved the permit with Milward moving and Uyehara seconding and a roll call vote that recorded Council President Fitzpatrick as abstaining and the remainder voting Yes. Mayor Razze relayed an invitation from Lucille Petrillo to attend the Pitman Woman’s Club ‘‘Spirit of Christmas House Tour’’ on Dec. 7. The council also recognized Deputy Clerk Carol Camacho for passing the State Municipal Clerk exam.
