Superintendent Dr. Spicer used the board meeting to highlight student achievements and district programs. The board recognized four students who advanced from the 2026 Regional History Fair to national competition (Ciera Saldana, Grace Scott, Romina Dracos and Eliza Smith) and acknowledged high school presenters whose session on student empowerment was selected for the Texas Association of School Board Governance Camp.
Dr. Spicer also reported that the Men's and Women's Empowerment Summits engaged more than 300 students with sessions on financial literacy, STEM careers, wellness and professionalism, supported by partnerships with Baylor University and the Junior League of Waco. He introduced Jerry Allen as the new Interim Chief Operations Officer, noting Allen will continue leading the Technology Department while overseeing district operations.
