Council approves consent agenda: Fort Monmouth amendment, truck donation and DRB access agreement among items passed

Eatontown council adopted a consent package of resolutions (125-134) on June 10, 2026, in a single roll-call vote (AYE: East, Araman, Jones, Lawson; Escalante and Faust absent). Items of note included:
- Resolution 125-2026: A statement of support for Amendment No. 22 to the Fort Monmouth Reuse and Redevelopment Plan, which would permit additional commercial uses on Parcel E in Tinton Falls as an alternative development option.
- Resolution 126-2026: Authorization for the mayor and clerk to execute a FY2027-FY2029 cooperation agreement with Monmouth County for participation in the Community Development Block Grant program.
- Resolution 128-2026: Acceptance of a donation from Monmouth County of a 2002 International Model 2654 tandem truck for DPW use, subject to an "as-is" acceptance agreement. Attorney Bayer read Councilmember Escalante's cautionary comment in support of accepting the donation but warning against substantial capital investment in a 24-year-old vehicle: "She cautions against investing significant capital funds into repair or rehabilitation of a vehicle that is 24 years old."
- Resolution 134-2026: Authorization for the mayor to execute a new temporary Access Agreement with DRB Realty, Inc. permitting access onto borough property at 10 Main Street to perform remediation and staging related to environmental cleanup of adjacent property; the agreement is conditional on terms approved by the borough attorney and administrator.
The consent package also included tax matters, ABC license renewals, and multiple engineering and construction approvals. The council moved the consent agenda as one motion and approved it by roll call.
