Commission discusses Lead Service Line Replacement program, PFAS design and hydrant replacements

During Director Thomas Matich’s operational report, the Board discussed the commission’s obligations under the Lead Service Line Replacement Program and related infrastructure work. Matich said staff are still progressing with screen placement at Dixon wells and that the commission is "still waiting for the 30% design and the submission of the specs for the 100 plus hydrant replacements."
Matich also said staff met with Neptune and Rio about meter-tower propagation study results that showed interference in segments of the city; the vendors will investigate sources of the interference before recommending additional towers or automation changes. The Board did not adopt new policy at the meeting but authorized staff to proceed with investigations and to readvertise phase 2 of capital projects after state concurrence with bid rejection.
