The East Orange Water Commission approved a package of resolutions at its Feb. 18 meeting, consolidating routine bill payments, payrolls and purchase authorizations under an omnibus motion. Commissioner Shantel Harrison moved the omnibus motion and Commissioner Fatimah McConnell seconded it; the motion carried unanimously. The package included Resolution 13A ratifying January 2026 recurring monthly bills in the amount of $1,007,316.35, Resolution 13B approving operating bills of $1,775,332.04 and Resolution 13C ratifying January payrolls of $618,303.74.
The omnibus also authorized multiple purchasing arrangements under the North Jersey Wastewater Cooperative Pricing System with not-to-exceed amounts (for example, pumps and motors repair/installation contracts up to $200,000 and instrumentation supplies up to $100,000). Resolution 13J, authorizing a personnel action, was held during the first vote and then reintroduced and approved after executive session on a motion by Commissioner Harrison, seconded by Commissioner Sherkera Lucas; both votes were recorded as carried unanimously.
