Council adopts floodplain update to meet federal NFIP rules

The council voted to adopt Ordinance 22-2026 amending Title 11 Chapter 6 of the Springville City Code (Flood Damage Prevention) to meet minimum National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) regulations in 44 CFR Part 60 and to formally adopt updated Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for Utah County effective June 23, 2026.
Council moved and seconded the ordinance at the meeting and approved it on a roll-call vote. Staff said the changes update local code to match federal minimum requirements and implement the effective federal maps for the county.
