The Borough of South River Planning Board on Jan. 13 re-elected Robert (Bob) Bodak as board chairman and approved a slate of professional appointments for 2026.
Mayor Peter Guindi nominated Bodak for chair; the board elected him by voice vote. The board approved resolutions appointing Thomas Barlow, Esq. as legal counsel; Justin Cornell, PE (CME Associates) as board engineer; Todd Bletcher (Bignell Planning Consultants) as board planner; and Julie M. Moy as board secretary. The board also adopted its 2026 meeting calendar, scheduling meetings at 6:00 p.m. through March and at 6:30 p.m. beginning in April.
Board members and staff described the actions as routine annual organization. The appointments were approved by voice votes and the board swore in the professional appointees during the meeting. Chairman Bodak later thanked members for re-electing him and asked members to confirm future attendance with Secretary Moy.
Why it matters: leadership and professional appointments determine who will advise the board on land-use, engineering and legal matters as South River considers redevelopment studies and routine variance applications during 2026.
