The Fayston Selectboard signed a model ethics and conflict-of-interest policy prepared by the Vermont League of Cities and Towns (VLCT). Selectboard Assistant Madison Vasseur said the policy was drafted by VLCT and is required for member municipalities; the board recorded the signing and announced a 45-day public-objection period after which the document will become an ordinance if there are no objections.
Board members did not record additional debate on the policy during the meeting. The action places a model code of conduct into the town's adoption process and starts the statutory objection window noted by staff.
