Troup ISD board authorizes bond election and signs interlocal pacts with county election offices

The Troup ISD board approved an order to call a bond election and authorized interlocal agreements with Smith and Cherokee counties to administer the Nov. 4, 2025 election; all motions passed unanimously 7–0.
The board voted 7–0 to adopt an order calling a bond election for Nov. 4, 2025 to place the district's $22,205,000 proposal before voters. Homer Dickey made the motion to call the election, seconded by Vic Bansal, and the motion carried unanimously.
Board members also approved interlocal agreements to use Smith County and Cherokee County elections divisions to conduct the bond election. Lisa Lewis moved to approve the Smith County interlocal agreement (seconded by Jake Howard), and Todd Kelly moved to approve the Cherokee County interlocal agreement (seconded by Homer Dickey); both motions carried 7'0to'00. The approvals formally authorize staff to coordinate election logistics with county election officials.
