Waelder ISD accepts multiple community donations to support students and activities

Superintendent Dr. Ron Lilie presented several community donations during the Oct. 27 Waelder ISD board meeting and trustees voted unanimously to accept them.
Donations recorded in the minutes include school supplies from the Gonzales VFW; pizza for home games from the local Exxon station (Snappys #8); a brisket donated by Coach Huelett for Career Day; reflective vests for the cross-country team from UniFirst; and crocheted animals from Elm Grove Baptist. Each item was moved, seconded and approved by unanimous vote.
The minutes do not list monetary values for the donations. Campus administration and the superintendent's office were identified as responsible for accepting and integrating the donated items into campus activities.
