The Waelder Independent School District Board of Trustees adopted a property tax rate of $0.6678 per $100 valuation for the 2025–26 tax year during a public meeting on Sept. 22, 2025. The meeting was called to order by Board President Dora Noyola at 6:07 p.m. in the WISD cafeteria; Superintendent Dr. Ron Lilie recommended approval of the ordinance setting the rate. Trustee Troy Sullivan moved to adopt the rate and Trustee Avery Williams seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
The adopted total rate of $0.6678 is allocated as $0.6131 for Maintenance and Operations (M&O) and $0.0547 for Interest and Sinking (I&S), the district’s debt service levy. Board members present and voting were Dora Noyola (president), Troy Sullivan (vice president), Avery Williams, Adolph Gonzales and Donald Kincaid; Trustees JoAnn Ibarra and Ruben Nava were recorded as absent. After the vote the board quickly moved to adjourn; the public meeting closed at 6:10 p.m. The district record also includes a formal resolution text documenting the levy and allocations, dated as adopted on Sept. 22, 2025, with signature lines showing clerk certification on Oct. 27, 2025.
