The Rye Conservation Commission voted to approve a $5,000 proposal from the Rockingham County Conservation District (RCCD) to perform invasive-species control work in the Rand Forest. Chair Victor Odryna moved to approve the proposal and the motion passed unanimously. The allocation will be paid from the Commission's earmarked funds.
At the same meeting Member Shawn Joyce also provided a brief finance update noting the RCC operating budget is just over $122,000 and that the Commission spent roughly $500 in February (excluding earmarks). The Commission previously paid Birch Tree Consulting $4,000 from earmarked funds; the new $5,000 payment will address site restoration and invasive plant management in a town forest parcel.
