North Caldwell seeks prefab snack stand, lighting and safety fencing for Liberty Field

Recreation Director Bill Maranz presented capital requests for Liberty Field and other park infrastructure at the Borough of North Caldwell’s special budget meeting on April 21.
Maranz recommended replacing the existing snack stand and restroom with a pre-fabricated facility, saying the structure would address maintenance and user needs. He also asked the council to prioritize replacement or repair of field lighting, and requested new scoreboards to be paid for by donations. Maranz emphasized safety upgrades including replacement fencing and support poles behind backstops and infields.
The council discussed funding priorities generally but did not allocate capital at the special meeting; capital requests will be considered alongside other department priorities when the capital budget is finalized.
