Veribest recognizes students/staff; athletic director reports basketball season progress
Summary
The board honored Students of the Month, Staff Members of the Month and Athletes of the Month. Athletic Director Justin Morris reported boys varsity 5–1, JV 8–0, girls 3–3 and noted injuries and eligibility issues.
During recognitions at the Dec. 16 meeting, the board acknowledged students Zakiah Leon and Tristan Flint as Students of the Month and staff members Maria Rocha, Maria Nava, Reyna Don and Norma Renteria as Staff Members of the Month. Ashley Kellermeier was named Parent of the Month and athletes Bryce Martin and Madelyn Wadley were named Athletes of the Month.
Athletic Director Justin Morris reported the high-school boys varsity team was 5–1 and the JV team 8–0 at the time of his report. He said the girls varsity were 3–3, that senior player Collyn Daniels suffered a knee injury and that one player was temporarily ineligible due to a transfer while district staff were working with the University Interscholastic League (UIL) regarding eligibility.
