The Veribest Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously Dec. 16 to uncommit $900,000 from the district fund balance, a move the board said would free one-time dollars for future needs.
Board President Mark Kellermeier made the motion to uncommit the funds and Mark Schwartz seconded; the motion passed 5–0. Business Manager Denise Dusek had provided the board with multi-page financial reports and an account-balance summary showing total district cash and investments of $4,775,114.13 as of Dec. 13, 2024. The board did not attach conditions to the uncommitment during the meeting.
