The council introduced Ordinance 0-26-8 on March 4, 2026, to make it unlawful for property owners or occupants to deposit snow or ice from private property onto public streets. The ordinance text states in Section 1 that "No person, owner, tenant, or occupant of any premises abutting any street shall sweep, plow, throw, place, or deposit snow or ice onto any street." The measure exempts windrows created by municipal plowing, grants enforcement authority to police, the Director of Public Works or his assignee and code enforcement personnel, and prescribes a $100 penalty for violations. Councilman Bray moved introduction and to set a public hearing for March 18, 2026 at 6:30 p.m.; Councilman Penta seconded. Members voted aye: Bray, Gomez, Penta, Ruane and Sniffen; one member (Cioffi) was absent.
