Wellington ISD trustees elect Phillips president, Lemons vice president and Strickland secretary
Summary
Following the oath of newly elected trustees, the board reorganized its officers. Each officer was elected after nominations; minutes record five votes in favor and one abstention for each position.
After the swearing-in of newly elected trustee Kenney Keys, the board opened nominations and elected officers for the coming year. Mark Lemons nominated Cody Phillips for president; the minutes record five votes in favor and one abstention and state that Phillips was elected president. Phillips nominated Mark Lemons for vice president and Lance Kane nominated Alison Strickland for secretary; for both positions the minutes again record five votes for and one abstention.
The minutes do not identify which board member abstained. The reorganization occurred at the May 12 regular meeting in the Superintendent’s Office and was recorded immediately after the certification and oath of office for the May 3 election winners.
