Superintendent outlines safety plan submissions, facilities assessment and finance review

During the Oct. 14 meeting the superintendent reviewed several district operational initiatives. The district has submitted an Emergency Operations Plan and a Cybersecurity Plan to the Texas School Safety Center and engaged TASB and Gallagher to perform a facilities assessment as part of strategic planning.
The superintendent said the district met with Jennifer Ritter from Specialized Public Finance to review the interest and the I&S rate and to explore the ability to use fund balance to pay down debt early. The superintendent also reported signing a contract with Shelly Laaser of Elevate Nutrition to assist with food services and meeting with Ambit Solutions about phone and public‑address system upgrades.
