Weimar ISD board approves Non-Business Day calendar under TPIA changes

During the action-item portion of the meeting, Trustee Jeremy Maupin moved to approve the calendar and Trustee Jon VanHouten seconded the motion. The board recorded the approved non-business days as Nov. 26 and 27; Dec. 23, 27, 30 and 31; Jan. 2; and March 10, 11 and 12.
Superintendent Chase Seelke had earlier framed the item by noting recent legislative changes to open-records law that constrain which days a governmental office may designate as non-business days. The district said it will follow the new statutory limits while scheduling administrative closures.
The motion passed unanimously; the minutes record a unanimous vote without further amendment. No further implementation details or staffing adjustments were provided at the meeting.
