Dr. Hollingsworth said the district is also pursuing facility upgrades across campuses to promote equity, athletic upgrades at Waxahachie High School and land purchases for future schools. He stated the Board recently approved a resolution advancing a long-range plan targeting 17,000 students and noted a potential phase-two bond that would fund two additional neighborhood elementary schools (each with an 800-student capacity) and a new junior high building sized for 1,200 students. Project oversight and scheduling details were provided by WISD Project Manager Stephen Mott during the same discussion.
