Planning staff told the committee the center is about 34 spaces short for the entire center’s needs and that the applicant has secured off‑site parking agreements and proposes valet service for ticketed events.
Applicant Brian Wong described the concept as an upscale ballroom dance studio and café: "This will be a a place you can get away," he said, adding plans for special ticketed events such as a Royal Masquerade Ball. The planning commission recommended approval subject to the off‑site parking agreements; the committee voted to forward both the text amendment and the Royal Bistro items to the evening consent agenda and the Liquor Commission subsequently approved the Class A license.
