Eatontown council outlines Netflix-site community benefit awards and upcoming topping-off ceremony

Mayor Talerico reported a topping-off ceremony at the nearby Netflix project and said Eatontown will hold its own topping-off in early 2027. The CBA committee awarded $5,888.60 to Monmouth Regional High School (in addition to a prior $25,000) and $48,750 to the museum for sidewalk upgrades and a monument at Wampum Park, subject to council approval.
In his mayoral report Mayor Anthony Talerico said he attended a topping-off ceremony at Netflix in Oceanport and that Eatontown will hold a topping-off ceremony in early 2027; the borough has met with Netflix staff about film and fire permits but no final decisions have been made.
The Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) committee awarded $5,888.60 to Monmouth Regional High School in addition to an earlier $25,000; total funding for the school’s theater microphone and sound upgrades exceeds $30,000. The committee also awarded $48,750 to the museum for sidewalk improvements, painting and a monument planned for Wampum Park; the sidewalk and monument remain subject to council approval. The committee also is evaluating other capital requests including a proposed 40-foot wall for soccer practice and requests from the library.
