Girl Scout asks Eatontown to host "Rainbow Bridge" memorial at Arboretum Park

At the June 24 meeting Mayor Anthony Talerico invited Cadet Lydia Vetter of Girl Scout Troop 761 to present a project proposal to the council. Vetter said she and troop member Mackenzie Santos would build and maintain a small memorial bridge in Arboretum Park to give grieving pet owners a place to remember their animals.
Vetter told the council the troop would manage the site and restrict items to memorial collars; the proposal included a sign stipulating "collars only." Mayor Talerico suggested the council approve the project provided the Department of Public Works determines a safe installation site and the work is completed safely. Councilmember Danielle Jones congratulated Vetter on the request; the council indicated support for conditional approval.
