Tenafly council adopts first readings for snow/weed removal and public-notice fee schedule

On Feb. 10 the Tenafly Council introduced and approved on first reading Ordinance 26-05 (amending removal of snow, ice, weeds and grass) and Ordinance 26-06 (establishing a fee schedule for public notices); both were set for public hearing on Feb. 24, 2026 and passed on roll call with one member absent.
The Tenafly Mayor and Council moved and approved on first reading two ordinances on Feb. 10: Ordinance No. 26-05, an amendment to Chapter 12, Section 3 addressing removal of snow, ice, weeds and grass; and Ordinance No. 26-06, establishing a fee schedule for public notices.
Both measures were introduced with motions and seconded (26-05: motion by Councilmember Dr. Julie O’Connor, second by Councilmember John Roglieri; 26-06: motion by Councilmember Jamie Corsair, second by Councilmember Jennifer Jackson). On roll call the council recorded unanimous aye votes of members present; Councilmember Adam Michaels was recorded absent. Public hearings were scheduled for Feb. 24, 2026 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tenafly Municipal Center.
Why it matters: Changes to removal rules and a municipal fee schedule affect property owners and how the borough publishes legally required notices. These ordinances are at first-reading stage and will be subject to public hearing and a second reading before final adoption.
