District rolls out ParentSquare; 714 parents have downloaded app so far

District staff updated the board on the districtwide rollout of ParentSquare, the new communications platform integrated with the student information system Infinite Campus. Staff described a phased training plan prioritizing secondary coaches and activity sponsors, with administrator training scheduled for Aug. 18.
"As of this morning, when I checked, we have 714 parents have already downloaded the app, so that's 11%," the presenter said, noting those downloads occurred before individual invitations were distributed. The presenter said some functions (attendance alerts and certain food-service payment alerts) will continue in Infinite Campus initially while the district works toward fuller integration by the second-semester start on Jan. 5.
Staff outlined targeted messaging capabilities and the ability for parents to join specific school or activity groups within ParentSquare; they said they will continue training through the fall to expand uptake.
