West Oso ISD honors bands, a perfect-attendance graduate and student competitors
Summary
Board members recognized West Oso junior high, high school and alumni bands, celebrated a student for K–12 perfect attendance, and acknowledged student placings at the TAME Coastal Bend regional competition and regional track appearances.
Trustees and district staff used the May 19 meeting to recognize student and alumni achievements. Ms. Kimberly Moore led recognitions for the West Oso Junior High Band, West Oso High School Band and the West Oso Alumni Band.
Moore, joined by Dr. Elodia Gutierrez and Ms. Debra Castaneda, recognized West Oso High School student Rihanna Barnes for "Perfect Attendance Kindergarten through 12th Grade." The board also acknowledged boys' and girls' track athletes who reached regional competition and junior high students who placed in the Texas Association of Minorities in Engineering (TAME) Coastal Bend regional event; several coaches and staff were listed as presenters for those recognitions.
