West Oso ISD board approves consent agenda, funds interlocal agreement, and adopts TASB policy update

The West Oso Independent School District Board of Trustees on May 19 approved routine minutes and financial reports, authorized funding for an interlocal agreement with the Communities of Schools of the Coastal Bend for the 2025–26 school year, and adopted a set of local policy revisions from the TASB Localized Policy Manual Update 124.
Trustee Shirley Jordan moved to take action on Consent Agenda items 5A–C (minutes and financial reports), a motion seconded by Trustee Priscilla Vela; the board recorded the outcome as "Motion Carried: 4-0-0." Later in the meeting Ms. Jordan moved to authorize the Communities of Schools interlocal agreement; that motion also carried 4-0-0. The board then approved the second reading of multiple WOISD (LOCAL) policies under TASB Update 124, again by recorded motion and vote, 4-0-0.
The policies approved under Update 124 include: CAA (LOCAL) Fiscal Management Goals and Objectives—Financial Ethics; CDA (LOCAL) Other Revenues—Investments; CY (LOCAL) Intellectual Property; DH (LOCAL) Employee Standards of Conduct; EHB (LOCAL) Curriculum Design Special Programs; EHBB (LOCAL) Special Programs—Gifted and Talented Students; FFG (LOCAL) Student Welfare—Child Abuse and Neglect; and GKA (LOCAL) Community Relations—Conduct on School Premises. Presenter Belinda Gamez brought the policy package forward as the second reading.
No recorded dissenting votes were recorded in the minutes for these items. The minutes indicate two trustees were absent for the meeting (Albert Villarreal and Belinda Gonzalez) and that Trustee Liz Gutierrez departed before adjournment at 6:26 p.m.
