West Rusk CCISD board extends superintendent’s contract through June 30, 2028

The West Rusk County Consolidated ISD Board of Trustees voted unanimously on Jan. 21, 2025, to extend Superintendent Lawrence Coleman’s contract by one year, making the contract effective through June 30, 2028. The motion to extend was made by Trustee Robert Anderson and seconded by Vice President Will Sudweeks.
Board members also approved paying Superintendent Coleman a bonus amount; the motion specified the bonus would be determined and paid as discussed between now and Aug. 31, 2025. The contract extension and bonus decision followed the board’s executive-session evaluation of the superintendent. The motion passed unanimously (item 24-24).
