Commission approves interlocal agreement with Orange County to assume responsibility for certain roads
Summary

Assistant City Manager Steve Pash presented an interlocal agreement with Orange County to transfer jurisdiction of portions of certain roads, including Avalon Road from State Road 50 (West Colonial Drive) to the city limit and parts of East Crown Point Road to the city. Pash said the transfer will allow the City to "fix issues that the residents have complained about" and that the City will assume associated maintenance costs and future decision-making authority.
Commissioners discussed the operational and fiscal implications of taking on the roads and voted 5-0 to approve the interlocal agreement. Staff said the transfer will enable the City to respond more directly to resident concerns about road conditions and maintenance.
